Nasty. DUCK

So...I've never really been a fan of Dooney & Bourke, and that's probably because of the colorful DB & hearts antics they had on fine leather. It came off as juvenile to me. So of course like any other fad that died. However, in a recent trip to Nordstroms, I was checking out their new inventory. Ran across a familiar collection of handbags I recall seeing as a child. I was so curious to see as who the "make" was. Low and behold, Dooney & Bourke. When I was a young child, probably 3 or 4 years old I distinctly reminisce one of my mothers crossover leather handbag. It was camel and hunter green with a picture of a DUCK where the flap of the bag was. Back to the present at Nordstroms, it clicked to my head my mother has this EXACT same bag! I was ecstatic!!! What made it more exciting other than not having to make a purchase, was that I was able to have an original Vintage handbag passed down. I almost had my hopes up though, my mother said she couldn't find it and possibly gave it to Goodwill! Ummm Ma'am you don't give a designer all purpose $300 (in the 80's that was the usd) handbag away to Goodwill when you have two GIRLS! Whew, I had a moment there! Well just my luck, she found it! It's perfect. But of course, Marcus said its only right to get a new age one as well. (that's a later post) There is such a variety of the Dooney & Bourke all weather leather DUCK bags available. From crossovers, carrier, satchels, drawstring, saddle to briefcase. Prices range from $165 to $298 and assorted colors: black, navy, hunter green, ivory, camel, and red. As you can see Fashion runs in my bloodline! And tip for you mothers out there with daughters, please please keep your leather goods for family heirloom & vintage pieces, us daughters greatly appreciate it!
